Biography

Rogerio Mourao is a nuclear engineer and since 1978 has been working at the nuclear research institute CDTN - Center for the Development of Nuclear Engineer - in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His professional experience is focused on radioactive waste management, transport package design and testing, and disused sealed sources management. The main projects he is presently working in are the development of a dual purpose cask for the transport and long-term storage of irradiated fuel elements from research reactors (jointly carried out by Argentina, Brazil and Chile) and the establishment of the Brazilian surface repository for low and intermediate level wastes.
