Biography

Qingrong Xiong obtained her bachelor’s degree with honours in Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering from Wuhan University (China) in 2010. In 2012 she completed her master studies in Underground engineering and pipeline construction at the same university. She started her PhD studies at the University of Manchester (UK) in September 2012 supported by President’s Doctoral Scholar Award. She is currently working in the Mechanics and Physics of Solids Research group headed by Dr Andrey Jivkov and her research topic focuses on simulating the effect of pore space evolution on transport in porous media.
