Biography

Elise Vermariën joined ONDRAF/NIRAS in 2007 and was immediately integrated in the 'project team' responsible for bringing the Dessel low level waste disposal program to a stage ready for repository implementation. This included the preparation of a safety case for license application. Elise has conducted and reviewed long-term safety assessment studies, and has taken the lead in documenting these in the safety case submitted to the Belgian regulator in January 2013.
