Biography

Igor Jencic is the head of the Nuclear Training Centre at the Jozef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has a PhD in physics. He worked as a researcher in the area of nuclear materials and radiation damage for about 20 years. In 2002 he took the current job. The activities of the Training Center include training of nuclear power plant professionals, as well as public information about radioactivity, nuclear technology, and radioactive waste management. He is a founding member of the Nuclear Society of Slovenia and he was its Secretary general from 1991 to 2003. He is also a member of the Program Committee of the European Nuclear Society.
