Biography

Kulvinder is a chemical engineer with 27 years experience of the UK and international nuclear industry. She started her career as Plant Manager of Defence sector radioactive waste processing and storage facilities, subsequently joining the UK nuclear safety regulator (Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR)). She has fulfilled wide ranging roles within ONR regulating nuclear civil and defence sectors and other major hazards industries. Internationally, she has chaired NEA’s Operating Experience Working Group and represents the UK on IAEA’s Waste and Safety Standards Committee. Her current Professional Lead role involves providing authoritative advice within ONR on radioactive waste and decommissioning issues.
