Biography

Dr. Voegele is an independent consultant, focusing on nuclear waste disposal and geotechnical issues related to civil and mining projects. He worked for more than thirty years on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Yucca Mountain Project, where he was involved in preparation or technical reviews of licensing documents, Environmental Impact Statements, Congressionally mandated documents, and public outreach. Principal clients include the Nye County Nuclear Waste Repository Project Office, and Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Voegele received the Bachelor of Geological Engineering (1971), Master of Science in Geological Engineering (1972), and Doctor of Philosophy (1978) degrees from the University
