Physiology, minor Chemistry, Texas A&M University Graduate Studies University of Hawaii, Bermuda Biological Research Facility and Washington State University Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) Nevada State Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) Certification as Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Distinguishing Qualifications Ms. Hopkins has 25 years of experience in project and program management; Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act Program development and implementation, environment, safety, and health (ES&H) compliance; regulatory analysis and permit management for Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and NPDES permitting, Safe Drinking Water Act, Toxic Control Substances Act, National Environmental Policy Act; sampling and analysis management; decontamination and decommissioning; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) characterization and remediation of industrial sites and Department of Energy sites; RCRA Corrective Action; Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP) remedial action; and both program and project management. She has worked extensively with the regulatory community in Washington State and Alaska. Ms. Hopkins has extensive negotiations experience with the U.S.D.O.E federal project managers and with Ecology and EPA personnel. Her work has involved nuclear waste decontamination, nuclear facility deactivation, remediation of radionuclide contaminated soils and groundwater and permitting and management of mixed waste storage and disposal and environmental quality assurance. She has experience in remediating weapons debris and plutonium production wastes. Ms Hopkins has received the International Technology Corp. National Quality Award, the DOE Woman of the Year Award, the Hazardous Materials Manager of the Year award, the WM06 Best Paper Award and the Fluor Hanford Author of the Year Award. Additionally she was awarded Meritorious Achievement in 2010 and Lifetime Achievement in 2011 by the local chapter of the CHMM. She served on the DD&R Executive Committee of the American Nuclear Society for three years.
