Abstract

Transportation is a major logistical driver as it is the responsible of  connecting nations, people or even moving the products between different stages in a supply chain. By means of well-handled transportation system, products or services will be arrive safe, on time and at the lowest cost. However, developing the appropriate transportation strategy, that improves the performance of the transportation system, requires a great level of involvement by concerned stakeholders.  
Stakeholder  engagement is  emerging  as an essential element in the establishment of efficient transportation decisions in which several resources have to be dedicated from the beginning of  the developing transportation strategy process. The aim of this paper is  to suggest a  transportation strategy developing  process  to help  transportation managers  in making the appropriate transportation strategy while  highlighting  the role of stakeholder engagement in achieving a successful and efficient
transportation strategy.
