The Influence of Transformational Leadership Style and Soft Competence on Performance and Service Quality in West Sulawesi Provincial Government

Abstract

This study intends to analyze transformational leadership and soft competence on the performance and quality of service in the West Sulawesi Provincial Government. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach that intends to explain the variables under study and the relationship between one variable and another. This study's population is the total number of ASN at the Office of Investment and One-Stop Services (DPMPTSP) West Sulawesi (Sulbar), amounting to 49 people. The sample used in this study is a saturated sample where the entire population is used as a sample so that the model in this study was 49 people. The analysis tool testing used is path analysis (path analysis). The results showed that: 1) transformational leadership style had a positive and insignificant effect on ASN performance, 2) soft competence had a positive and negligible impact on ASN performance, 3) transformational leadership style had a significant positive effect on service quality, 4) smooth competence had a positive and insignificant impact on service quality, and 5) ASN performance has a significant positive impact on service quality. The transformational leadership style has a positive and negligible impact on service quality if mediated by ASN performance. Transformational leadership style has a positive and insignificant impact on service quality is judged by ASN performance.
