Abstract

Abstract. The intent of this article is to present a detailed review of supply chain design using Industry 4.0 technologies. Supply chain design is unique to a particular industry.  Supply chain of a company consists of involves different elements (viz. Planning, Information, Sourcing, Inventory, Production, Logistics, Return of goods, and Enablers). With the introduction of Industry 4.0, many researchers have started using Industry 4.0 technologies for designing a company’s supply chain. Industry 4.0 is becoming popular among practitioners and researchers, in the design of a supply chain. This is mainly because, by using Industry 4.0, supply chain will become more flexible, efficient, quick and become transparent among supply chain elements.

The main contribution of this article is to review the existing technologies and then present future research directions. This would help those who are interested in pursuing further research.
