Abstract

Late order loss as a result of challenging handling (loading and unloading) operations served as a wake-up call to improve traditional transportation handling of e-commerce by reducing it to semi-automated actions. This article describes the concept of Vehicle Containers with Permutational Drawers (VCPD), which ensures ergonomic handling. The proposed Ergonomic Digital Twin (EDT) uses the Internet of Things (IoT) to administer the VCPD. The VCPD object has two dimensions: the size of the drawers and the mechanism that moves them. These goals are achieved by building a digital twins model, or DT, for these drawers in order to assess their suitability for deployment, particularly if IoT is used. There is still a lot of uncertainty about the DT and how it will affect the VCPD in medium-sized transportation networks. This project uses the Internet of Things to improve and simplify transportation processes by creating a single framework with multiple common procedures to minimise execution time, effort, and transportation expenses.
