Abstract

The use of occuring molecules from natural resources for the production of industrial polymers and polymeric intermediates has attracted much attention the academicians and industrial communities. From the scientific point of view, laboratory work has been scrutinized in years on synthesizing polymers from natural resources. However, issues related to terms bio-based, biodegradable, and sustainability are emerged, all of which agitate to the environmental alert from the destructive effects of petrochemicals and their derivatives. Polyols have brought on markets to manufacture polymer products one of which polyurethane, that consisted at least partly of naturally sourced formula for the desire molecular structure and property. The modification of raw natural sources and the production process through proper methods can produce polymers and intermediates that suitable for a specific application. This study shed light on the chemistry, types, and synthesis.
