Abstract

Road accidents are the most common phenomenon in our daily lives that occur in every corner of the world. One of the main factors contributing to this problem is driver behavior. This study aims to gather four behaviors of road users located in Johor Bahru which are human factor, road conditions, environment factor and road safety policies. A correlation analysis utilizing the Pearson correlation is conducted to determine the association of these factors with the road accidents among the food delivery motorcyclists. A total of 112 motorcyclists’ data was able to be collected based on a simple random sampling technique to conduct the survey using a 5 likert scale. From the findings, it was found that road condition is the significant factor contributing to the road accidents among food delivery motorcyclists. Therefore, the appropriate recommendations are suggested based on the results is that local government should provide an extra motorcycle lane to ease their journey and also further tightening road use laws for motorcycles. These actions could help to reduce and prevent road accidents among the motorcyclists.
