Abstract
The horizontal well technique, in the field of drilling oil wells and gas, is developing more than vertical wells. The advantages of this technique are essentially the access to a reservoir located in inaccessible areas, the increase in the production of hydrocarbons compared to conventional wells by obtaining an optimal length of the layer-hole connection, the solving a particular problem of production (conning, anisotropy, isolation of the formation ...).
However, the realization of such a project is accompanied by the constraints that we are called upon to overcome. Among these constraints, the cleaning of the well in its strongly deviated and horizontals sections. Indeed, in these parts of the well, cuttings tend to fall against the current of drilling mud and form a bed of cuttings that can cause serious problems for subsequent operations.
This research work focuses on the understanding of the phenomenon as well as the different means involved in order to avoid the accumulation of cuttings and to analyze the factors affecting the cleaning of a deviated well in order to optimize their values. To ensure proper evacuation of solid particles to the surface.
