Abstract

Hydraulic Floor Crane or Hydraulic Floor Lifter is mainly used in industries to shift inventory from one place to another place. The undergraduate project on the design and manufacturing of hydraulic floor crane has been carried out while considering the economics and ergonomics aspect. This hydraulic floor crane consists of Base, Vertical Column, Outer Boom, Inner Boom and Hydraulic System. The working of this hydraulic crane is totally based on hydraulic oil which pressurizes the cylinder to higher or lower the boom. The inner boom of the crane can be adjustable at three positions according to the weight capacity. This crane reduces the worker’s fatigue and increase the overall efficiency of the production by saving the time. There are four innovative points in this crane which makes it differ from the other cranes. Firstly; it can lift the maximum weight of 2000 lbs. Secondly; it can be easily folded or unfolded in 15 to 20 minutes. Thirdly; it is semi-automatic and the last and most important point is that, it is very much economical as its market value is between PKR 3.5 lac to PKR 10 lac but this hydraulic crane is just manufactured or fabricated in PKR 1 lac.
