Importance of Innovative Transformational Leadership on Employee Engagement in the Mining Industry

In Zimbabwe, the mining sector contributes significantly to the growth of the economy. However, the performance of the industry is also dependent on the emp0loyee- employer relations. This work investigates the impact of innovative transformational leadership on the level of employee engagement in the mining sector with specific reference to the large mining sector in Zimbabwe. A sample of 200 respondents was studied to determine the effect of a transformational leader with the four key elements: purpose driven, people driven, innovative and inspiring. The employee’s performance through organizational performance, culture and adherence to the vision was measured. SPSS was used was the analysis tool at 95% confidence interval. It was observed that there is positive correlation between innovative transformational leadership and the employee engagement in an organization.
