Abstract

In airline industries, an airline operator has to deal with two types of issues:  operative aircrafts and customer satisfaction which is somehow connected with each other. Availability of aircraft spare parts is a critical requirement in dealing with this concern. It has a great impact on the reliability and reputation of an airline in terms of seat saleability, passenger comfort and satisfaction, safety, and on-time departure and arrival of scheduled flights. An MRO is a business model specific for supporting airlines companies in terms of engineering, maintenance, and material availability. The purpose of the study is to examine the effectiveness of the existing ordering approach of an MRO located in the Philippines that maintains and provides service to an airline operator and to formulate a new ordering approach that will suffice unpredicted issuance of aircraft parts.
