Abstract

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming more popular and necessary in this age as a means for mobility due to their positive impact on the environment and resource use efficiency. More nations worldwide are advocating the use of EV. An interesting problem regarding the use of EVs is the selection of a charging station that satisfies several objectives that are relevant to vehicle users. In this paper a rule-based system derived from Artificial Intelligence and the Analytic Hierarchical Process are integrated to address this challenging problem.  The rule-based system is for ensuring feasibility and the AHP for optimal selection. The integrated approach is implemented using python and its applicability is demonstrated using a case study.
