Abstract

The objective of the project is to find a material or a combination of materials that the greenhouse industry could use to improve the quality and expected results without neglecting its ecological impact. What this means is that there must be a good amount of incoming light without increasing the temperature to alarming degrees. The objective of the material that is sought for greenhouses is that it allow the passage of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) and that reduce the amount of heat accumulated inside the greenhouse. The variables that will be taken into account for the project are: the PAR, the resistance, the allowed wind flow, the temperature, and the humidity generated by the material. Whoever directs the agricultural process will have to take into account the following factors: light capacity allowed to enter the greenhouse, range of temperatures, and ranges of humidity inside the greenhouse, use of chemicals in processes, entry of insects to the greenhouse and volumetric flow of air.
