Abstract
The construction industry plays a crucial role in improving the socio-economic development of rural and urban communities. The sector is also responsible for providing employment and business opportunities for members of the society. Thus, reducing the level of poverty. The masonry brick manufacturing SMEs contribute towards South Africa’s GDP and economic growth. However, there are organisational challenges that confront the masonry brick manufacturing SMEs and adversely affecting their productivity growth. The study was exploratory in nature and reviewed literature covering research constructs involving investment in human capital, just-in-time and workplace layout. Furthermore, how these productivity systems can be incorporated within operational process in order to grow productivity. Thus, achieving market and financial feasibility.
