Abstract

This paper is about the usability characteristics and anthropometric measurement of ATMs in Kuwait.  As for usability issues, we mentioned three characteristics which are about efficiency, learnability and readability. Moreover, anthropometric dimensions of ATMs are represented as card slot height, screen height, keypad height and cash withdrawal and dispenser height. In order to evaluate usability characteristics, we design a questionnaire with ten questions related to the mentioned characteristics. We analyzed the questionnaire by using Minitab Software using Spearman Coefficient Correlation. we used Spearman Coefficient Correlation to check if the questions from same categories are correlated or not. Additionally, we will compare between customer satisfaction and learnability, efficiency and readability characteristics.  Also, we measure the efficiency by calculating the total time for each user. On the other hand, we were able to find different anthropometric dimensions for three banks in Kuwait. As what we found, designers don’t consider any anthropometric dimensions for different users for different users. Finally, we concluded our work by recommending solutions related to usability issues and anthropometric dimensions.
