Abstract

The textile industry represents almost 25% of the net exports of manufacturing, however these are currently affected by the growing competitiveness of China and most of them are SMEs that find it difficult to have a planning of their processes causing quality problems, high prices and late deliveries. In this article, we sought to increase the productivity and efficiency of a small textile company through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools and promote a well-balanced assembly line with a standardized work that allows producing products at an optimal time using fewer resources, such as machines, materials or labor, since the right number of products is produced with the exact amount of resources, thus generating savings in production costs. The improvement proposal was validated in the ARENA Software the increase in productivity from 38% to 68.99%.
