Abstract

The world is witnessing a tremendous breakthrough in technology owing to the use of the Internet and electronic devices. Accordingly, the relationship between companies and their customers will be close more than before. These changes will allow products to communicate with their manufacturers so that they can be improved in future generations and can also be supported with updates made remotely, without user intervention. Productivity increases, continuous improvement and improved customer relationship are the objectives of this paradigm shift. Products from all durable and non-durable segments will have a high level of customization, with the customer being responsible for specifying which characteristics will satisfy them. In this paper, the concepts of Industry 4.0 are highlighted with the retailing process of the automotive industry. The related works are reviewed, and a solution framework is introduced.
