Abstract

Astronauts often feel the lack of human presence or in other words the earthly environment while working in space. Due to the shift in environment, they go through numerous health hazards. For example, isolation, confinement, hostile/closed environment, etc. Virtual reality can bring a nice solution here. Already NASA has been using virtual reality to train the astronauts on controlling the space crafts, moving around the space crafts, and a lot more. Our primary goal is to focus on the factors of mental health that can be improved via the environment of virtual reality. We will create an environment based on individual tastes and requirements using VR. Humanity will soon soar for the longest trek on Mars which is roughly 140 million miles away from earth and it's almost a three years trip. Unlike the trips to the moon or international space station this journey is way too long and to keep the morale high on such long trips comforts from the virtual environment can be very effective.
