Abstract

Organization culture and the culture of the working class infuence the productivity of a manufacturing company. The culture of workers differ from one geographic region to the other depending on past experience. One can suggest that the Japanese are bound together by their strong culture, the outcomes of the second world war. What the Japanese can do  succesfully in Japan may not be succesful elsewhere. The manufacturing culture in South Africa (SA) is not exceptional, it encounters a lot of challenges when Lean Manufacturing (LM) is being implimented. The study reviews the LM culture across the globe and investigate how the  culture in (SA) has made its success rate to be different from other nations. The study is centered on TOYOTA MANUFACRURING SOUTH AFRICA and its suppliers. Note the suppliers are for TSAM and and its competitors.
