THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN TOURISM IN SADE ILLAGE, LOMBOK, INDONESIA

Abstract

Sade is known as the village of indigenous ethnic Sasak that until now still maintained its authenticity. Farming is the main livelihood of the sade community. Besides that, they also have products crafts such as weaving which is produced by the female Sade, who since minor (age 9 years) has been obliged to learn to weave, and the rule is made so that women in Sade can live independently without relying on men. But in terms of tourism, women are not too involved, when should women's role is important in developing the village tour, for example in the membership Pokdarwis at once is not no woman, because according to them men shall take all the role, whereas for women only take care of the family and sell the results weaving. Women are the source of power of the most important which should be used by both the activities of the development of society, particularly for community Sade. However, in reality, women have a domestic role that cannot be separated from other roles in their lives. It is making women not to focus only on the role of the publi . In terms of this, the case dilemmas in society regarding the position of women in the activities of society, especially in program development community through programs villagers travel.
