Abstract
Coagulation plays a highly vital function in the purification of raw water, notably in intake of drinking water for human kind. Aluminium sulphate is the most common chemical coagulant. Aloe vera is well regarded as a plant with multiple purposes. It is beneficial in medicine, however usage of Aloe Vera utilising in different water treatments may be utilised as a cheap cost adsorbent instead of high cost adsorbent. In this research, certain natural coagulants have been described for the coagulation process. Water is a crucial resource for the existence of life. This research focuses on establishing an efficient and cost-effective processing procedure by employing Aloe Vera powder to generate natural coagulant for use in raw water treatment. The turbidity removal efficiency of alum and aloe vera powder are 89.65 percent at coagulant dosage 40mg/l and 77.68 percent at coagulant dose 150mg/l correspondingly. The findings indicated that the alum is more successful than aloe vera however certain downsides have been observed in utilising alum, since it increases Alzheimer's disease due of its carcinogenic features.
