Abstract
China has caught up their economic success with their competence in technology innovation. In order to fulfill their development, China deployed their innovation and became a tech-supplier to other countries, especially in South East Asia. As the world's fastest internet market and their spacious digitalization, Southeast Asia has become a significant potential market for China’s telecommunication companies. In ASEAN-China joint statement on synergising the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC 2025) it shows that China has strong ambitions for long-term economic cooperation with ASEAN. Huawei, as one of the biggest telecommunication company, support’s China on the deployment of 5G supplies around ASEAN Countries. In this paper, authors will describe how China manages to supply their telecommunication services with the support from Huawei in Southeast Asia. ASEAN as a regional has been developing 5G as their desired outcomes through the ASEAN Digital Master Plan and their current priorities through Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity. The research will be using a qualitative method with interviews as primary data and literature review as secondary data.
