Abstract

COVID-19 as a global pandemic has changed the situation and conditions in the field of learning. To reduce the spread
of the new coronavirus, learning activities are carried out online. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact
of the COVID-19 pandemic on the behavior of teachers and students at junior high schools in Palembang. This research method uses a Survey approach. The research population is the State Junior High School in Palembang. Then the sampling technique used is a systematic sampling quota with 200 respondents. Data analysis was carried out with structural model equations (SEM) assisted by the LISREL 8.8 application. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires distributed through google forms. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, this study concludes that there is an impact of the pandemic affecting teacher behavior but not affecting student behavior directly, but teacher behavior affects student behavior. Then the impact of the Coronavirus Disease affects the behavior of teachers, so teacher behavior has a direct impact on student behavior, which depends on how teachers apply to learn during the pandemic against students
