Abstract

Selection of research designs either qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods have been major discussion in the field of operation research. This paper reviews the research design and methodology in operations management to identify the common approached in research design and strategy applied. The advantages and disadvantages of each approach are discussed in order to answer the research questions for operation diagnosis to identify operation improvement opportunities. Finally, empirical research methodology is recommended to develop, test and validate the theory.
